   “Rarely do I encounter a novel that so completely swallows me, but as I tore through this wonderfully written thriller, loaded with significance and as colorful as the iconic bridge that connects India and Sri Lanka, I found myself resonating with the characters (Aiden, the protagonist and even Xavier, the antagonist and Indian fisherman) so deeply I cried when they hurt and rejoiced when they succeeded!

   All the while Magic Bridge rekindled the dying flame of my own faith reminding me that God is good, He loves me, and He has a specific plan for my life, but free will demands I have a choice whether to believe that or not or follow Him or not. Also impressive
   was Wheeler’s non-offensive inclusion of Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam and Judaism, while posing the same question to everyone, regardless of professed religious belief, who do you say that Jesus is and what basis has led you to that decision? I highly recommend

   Magic Bridge is a novel about an amazing journey that takes its main character to a mysterious landmark on the other side of the world, but also a soul journey that leads him to a life-altering choice. Creativity and imagination weave together to generate a storyline that is both entertaining and enlightening for the reader. Tom Wheeler has produced another exciting novel that demonstrates his skill as a masterful storyteller who is on a mission to not only entertain but also cause the reader to examine their own life through the lens of the fictional characters. Magic Bridge is a great read.

   I thoroughly enjoyed reading Magic Bridge. The book is a perfect combination of spiritualism, fantasy and down-to-earth realism. The inspiring journey of the main character Aiden, with all its twists and turns, left me unable to put the book down. It is a spiritual book, but the interesting history of the area and description of the culture of the native people was very well researched and described by the author. I particularly enjoyed learning about the history of the bridge, the mythology surrounding it, and the tough lives of the fishermen, government officials, and odd assortment of characters Aiden came across in his journey.

   I titled this review The breath of life because the story truly breathed new life into my own personal walk with Jesus. Having accepted Jesus and walked as a Christian for 20 years, I found my faith becoming somewhat stale. And though I didn’t go looking for this book, it found me… and renewed me. This truly well written story of a man searching for his personal truth at a time of crisis was definitely entertaining, and had me turning the pages quickly to see what would happen next. I’m a new fan of Tom Wheeler and looking forward to reading more of his work!

   Magic Bridge takes readers on an inspiring, suspenseful, and enchanting journey into the depths of man’s search for meaning. The storytelling is masterfully engaging, with a seamless narrative that captivates from beginning to end. I didn’t ever want to put it down. As the main character Aiden experiences both sorrow and joy, I felt like I was there with him. By skillfully weaving elements of suspense, cultural exploration, magical realism, and spiritual discovery, Wheeler crafts a compelling story that is both deeply entertaining and profoundly thought-provoking. I particularly appreciated how the novel inspired me to reflect more deeply on my own faith, making it a truly transformative reading experience. I loved every moment of it! I highly recommend Magic Bridge!

   Compelling, well-crafted story telling and full of emotion! I was so engaged with the characters I got chills. It was nothing at all like I expected when I first got hold of the story. In fact, was a life changer for me, a transformer. If you enjoy colorful adventures that challenge your soul to wake up, you will love this novel!

   “With the sole desire to be the world’s ruler, Marina Crumpler masquerades as the world’s savior, thereby rendering lives useless for her greater good. On the other hand, Mason is bent on restoring America to God, but Marina Crumpler, amongst others, poses a threat. Will he be able to save America from the impending doom?

   Masquerader by Tom Wheeler portrays the dirt and evil in global politics. He does this and indirectly makes a clarion call for people to be restored to their maker, God. This is certain because the page on “About the Author” shows that Tom Wheeler has a Master’s degree in theological studies. However, despite his biblical stance, he passes these messages in the most thrilling, action-packed, and exhilarating way. There is nothing religious about this story.

   The book was written from an omniscient point of view. While the first few pages of the book were a bit fuzzy, I kept on until the book caught my rapt attention, and I completed the entire 720 pages. I had to check out the previous books by Tom that birthed this one. I’d say that the narrative combined both fiction and nonfiction. References were made to former presidents of America. Weaving these elements of fiction with touches of nonfiction made it a masterpiece. The creativity employed by Tom Wheeler is fantastic.

   The book presented a list of the cast at the beginning. This was a great help to me. Whenever I got confused about the mission of a particular character, I referred to the page on the list of characters to get a precise explanation of the character.

   The investigation and underground dirty jobs reminded me of some American series like Nikita, Blind Spot, and Black List. Tom Wheeler made his characters talk about some movies that described their actions and situations, like Terminator and Outbreak. Masquerader has also proven that voodoo practices are still used in playing politics.

   Tom Wheeler doused the whole tension in the book with the character of Rihanna. She was humorous due to her misplacement of words because English was not her official language. For example, she said “porcu-spine” instead of “porcupine” in one of her engagements.

   I’d like to borrow a French word to describe the awesomeness of this book. This work was parfait, and I had no reservations about it. The editing was okay, considering its volume. Therefore, I’d give it a deserving four out of four stars. I’d recommend Masquerader to lovers of politically centered stories.”

   “Contains political intrigue, spiritual battles, and hidden technological advances.

   The story begins as Mason, a soul in Heaven, is upset about leaving the heavenly realms to be birthed on Earth. However, once he realizes he is the last messenger to call America to repentance, he accepts his calling. Mason is born to a father who should have been a messenger, but was waylaid from his calling. At the same time in another country, Hassan is being raised as a different type of messenger. We follow the struggles of Mason and Hassan as they discover secret technological products, battle their own private demons, and protect their loved ones – all while trying to follow their calling.

   Wheeler has written an action packed novel that I couldn’t put down. It is very descriptive in its geography – consisting of settings from Washington, D.C. to the Middle East.

   The characters are one of the most interesting aspects of the book. Since this is a supernatural thriller, it contains angels and demons. They are vividly described. For example, “All of the archangels are brilliantly white with a form similar to a human and a circle of rainbow colors shooting from their chest”. The human counterparts are just as intriguing. Mason and his family are likeable characters, despite their failings and bad judgement at times. Even the antagonist, Hassan, is developed in such a way that I felt he was an important part of the story and not just a side character trying to thwart the protagonist.

   I enjoyed how this book delved into the supernatural realm, yet kept me grounded in the physical world by tying things together using the secret advances in technology that might be going on now and the hidden battles going on in the unseen realms. Robert Whitlock (an author) comments “In Mason, Tom Wheeler has opened the door to the spiritual realm in a way not seen since Frank Peretti’s This Present Darkness. Pick up this book and you won’t put it down.”

   On the downside, there were a couple of characters’ storylines that I felt were not fully developed. I’m hoping that the sequel will focus on those areas. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed the book. It seemed to be professionally edited, but there were quite a few minor grammatical mistakes. The book would benefit from another editing. There was only mild profanity and sexual references.

   Based on the above observations, I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. If there had been fewer grammatical errors, I would have rated it 4 stars. I believe anyone that enjoys sci-fi adventure novels will enjoy this one. However, I feel conservative, religious types would enjoy it more. I look forward to reading the sequel to this book.”

The funny, sometimes sad and awful stories, Tom writes about in Second Wind are the reality he faced moving into the “hood.” If you really want to help the least and lost, I would encourage you to read Second Wind.”

   “Just as Tom quotes his partner and friend Johnny Allen, he has pursued the ministry God has given him ‘by sacrificing what I considered to be productivity for the sake of the person’, and in the process of touching each Man individually, has built one of the most effective missions to the homeless, one that ‘comes along side’ of these men and, therefore, goes at their pace, and God’s pace, not ours. However you read Second Wind, please be sure to read all the Biblical passages contained therein — they are solid truth and touch on all the foundational elements of faith in Jesus and the life and hope Tom tries to instill into the hearts of his participants.”
